I-POD SPEAKERS

I’m sure you are probably looking at this picture and wondering: “How is this speaker standing up?” That is a good question, and I believe the answer lies in a high-density ballast located at the base.
What you are looking at is the YO, an iPod speaker system designed by an American designer Victor Vetterlein. These speakers are both wireless and detachable, and they charge on the dock. I don’t know if it charges the iPod either, but it should.
In fact, the designer wants to charge the unit with renewable energy sources such as wind power, solar power, or even hydroelectricity. I suppose anything that uses renewable energy sources has to be good, right?

KEYBOARD FOR YOUR I-PHONE

When I first got a chance to use the keyboard on the iPhone, I found it quite hard to use. I mean, there’s just this tiny keypad and you have to hit the keys exactly. Not to mention that there is no tactile feedback.
I don’t personally own an iPhone, but if I ever had to use one to send and receive very important emails, I would definitely want to have the BTKeyMini. The BTKeyMini is a Bluetooth keyboard designed for the iPhone as well as the iPod Touch.
With this device, you can wirelessly sync up to your Apple mobile device of choice, and have that wonderful feeing of clicking keys underneath your fingers

LEATHER FLASK USB DRIVE

I think all of us at Coolest Gadgets will certainly love this - the Leather 250GB Hip Flask USB Drive.
This portable drive looks just like a pocket size flask and is wrapped with buttery 100% real leather. Connect it to your computer using USB 2.0 for transfer rates of up to 480 Mbits per second, no external power supply is needed. Built in Drop Guard protection protects your data after a night on the town with the boys. Works on any standard OS including Windows, Linux and Mac.
You will need to fork out a rather hefty RS 12000/- for this bad boy though, but the look on your boss’ face ought to be well worth the price as you play a prank at the office.

PAPER WATER BOTTLES

It’s good that more people are drinking bottled water these days, but what isn’t good is that there are many plastic bottles that often do not get recycled. Even the plastic bottles that get recycled are not 100% renewable.
Fortunately, Brandimage has created the 360 Bottle. I’m assuming it is called the 360 because it is 100 percent recyclable. How is that possible? Because the Brandimage 360 is made of paper.
Granted, the 360 Bottle doesn’t have the clear aesthetic of most water bottles, but I think we all need to sacrifice a lot of plastic to Save the Earth. It certainly is an idea whose time has come, and it has already received an IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) for this concept. They are only available in UK.

RECHARGEABLE SPOTLIGHT FOR VEHICLES

Now here’s a rechargeable LED light for use in your vehicle whenever you’re traveling. After all, you never know when you might need something like this, as emergencies seem to occur at the most inconvenient of times. This nifty little device can be plugged into the vehicle’s 12V power outlet to be charged, and its high output .5 wall LED is bright enough to light up just about anywhere you point it to. The Spotlight is both waterproof and shockproof, thanks to its 6061 aluminum aircraft body. It isn’t too hot when it comes to charging though - 7 hours offers just 2 hours worth of light. If you’re interested, the Spotlight will retail for RS1036/- a pop.

NEW BLACKBERRY STORM

The new BlackBerry Storm is probably RIM’s most important phone release since the first Pearl became available back in 2006. Why? Because like the Pearl, which introduced the business orientated BlackBerry brand to the consumer world, the Storm represents another first for RIM, the introduction of a touchscreen handset with a brand new interface ready to take on the current smartphone darling, Apple’s iPhone 3G.
Originally known as the BlackBerry Thunder prior to the official announcement, we received word of its imminent release on October 8th when the Storm 9500 was confirmed for Europe - incidentally, the Storm 9530 is the version to be sold in the USA - and word is the BlackBerry will be on sale from October 22nd.
Research in Motion realise how important the touchscreen interface is and have added their own unique style to the system as well as addressing the various feature omissions which frustrate both existing and potential iPhone users. The Blackberry Storm has its fair share of impressive features and will appeal to a broad range of mobile phone fans, as it’s set to be as competent on the multimedia side as it’s sure to be on the business side. If you’ve held off purchasing another smartphone because you where intrigued to see what RIM were cooking up, then it looks like you’re about to be rewarded, as the Storm looks mightily impressive.

MULTIPURPOSE PAD

After owning me, you’ll think about of letting me fall without catching me, ever again.
This is quite the remorse of your badly treated and shattered mouse pad that was time and time again found lying on your floor and picking it up is the last thing on your mind.
Now, with pride, they present the newly evolved mouse pad geared with a USB hub and speakers.
While our minds know that today’s mice, particularly those with lasers, work just fine on virtually any(non-moist) surface, that gives our friendly mouse pad a little use not until the traveler-friendly Roll-upMouse Pad was invented.
It contains a 4-port USB hub and dual, side-firing speakers out of the deal. Sure, the build quality may besub-par (check the jagged plastic after the break), but for $22 this could make that hotel suite a little bit more inviting for you and that special peripheral you’ll be cradling all night.

CANON EOS REBEL XSi

The EOS Rebel XSi features a substantial yet streamlined profile, with curved edges, contoured surfaces, conveniently placed controls and comfortably constructed rubber grip and thumb rest that all contribute to fatigue-reducing hand fit. The body is constructed of a rugged yet lightweight combination of stainless steel and polycarbonate embedded with glass fiber. The chassis exterior is enrobed in a durable ABS and Polycarbonate resin and offered in a choice of silver or black finishes.
At the heart of the new EOS Rebel XSi is its newly designed 12.2 megapixel APS-C size Canon CMOS sensor. This new sensor employs large microlenses over each pixel to reduce noise and enhance sensitivity up to ISO 1600, which is ideal for high-quality images in low light. The APS-C size sensor retains a 1.6x focal length conversion factor compared to full-frame digital image sensors or 35mm film format cameras.

SONY PLAYSTATION OF 2009

According to the English magazine CVG, next year’s plans for PSP and PS3 have been revealed and they include really impressive games that will be released by Sony.
Even, rumors talk about the launching of Uncharted 2 in 2009. In fact, many people are waiting for this game and 2009 looks like a good year for its release (two years after the release of the original game). Also, rumors talk about the release of God of War III: some developers have seen videos about that, although they cannot confirm if the video was a sample of the game or just a presentation.
As for PSP, plans look good too. There are rumors about a version of MotorStorm for PSP Platform that would be quite spectacular, but even more interesting is the fact that the console could have another version of LittleBigPlanet, which is also an old rumor.
When Sony was asked about this, the company answered it doesn’t comment on speculation or rumors. We’ll see what happens next year

OPERA MINI 4.2 AVAILABLE

The beta version of the mobile phone browser, that was launched in early November, is the first Opera browser that has been available for T-Mobile G1 users, which is the first mobile phone built on the open source mobile platform Google Android.
“Our support for the Android platform helps fulfill our mission to be available on more platforms, for more devices and reach more users, anywhere in the world”, said Jon von Tetzchner, Opera Software CEO.
Opera Mini 4.2 offers an improved set of skins that allows users to customize the appearance of the browser. Also, Opera has released the browser in 90 different languages and added support for notes; that means now users can sync up notes between the mobile browser and the Opera desktop browser.
You can download Opera Mini 4.2 from Opera’s website.

i-River cell phones

While everyone is trying to emulate the iPhone's look, iRiver keeps playing their own metallic tune: Following the design of the beautiful Spinn—although more conservative than their experimental products—the new iRiver cellphone also has a brushed metal look, featuring both a pad as a controlling device and a large touchscreen, which supports handwriting recognition and multiple dictionaries. While it's not multitouch and its operating system may not be as advanced and powerful as the iPhone or Android OS, it looks like one to keep an eye on in the case it arrives to the US from Korea, where it will appear on March 9, next year.
